Biorenewables Brain Trust Gathers at ISU
Biorenewable technologies are everybody’s business. That’s why Iowa State’s two-week Intensive Program in Biorenewables brings to campus a diverse set of top students from different academic, ethnic, and economic backgrounds to wrap their heads around critical issues in the field.
Iowa State R&D 100 Awards
Engineers Hans van Leeuwen and Mark Bryden are among researchers at Iowa State University and the U.S. Department of Energy's Ames Laboratory who have won two 2009 R&D 100 Awards. The awards, presented annually since 1963, salute the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace over the past year.
Honors and Awards
1. Bioeconomy Institute director Robert Brown has been named to the Gary and Donna Hoover Chair in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Robert Anex, associate director for research for Iowa State’s Bioeconomy Institute, has been named to the Science and Technology for Sustainability Subcommittee of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Board of Scientific Counselors.
3. Surya Mallapragada is one of four Iowa State University researchers recently named an AAAS fellow by the American Association
